About

I'm a board-certified adult psychiatrist specializing in the treatment of anxiety, mood, thought and trauma-related disorders. I treat patients using a collaborative approach that integrates psychopharmacology and psychotherapy. I have a particular interest in long-term therapeutic partnerships, existential and philosophical dimensions of mental health, and in helping patients navigate layered or long-standing mental health challenges.

I earned my Doctor of Medicine degree from the Frank H. Netter MD School of Medicine and completed residency in General Psychiatry at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC). During residency, I sought out specialized training in various modalities of psychotherapy. I also completed the Drug Abuse Research Training (DART) Fellowship at MUSC, deepening my experience in addiction psychiatry and substance use research.

Through my prior work as a psychiatrist at the Charleston VA, I have extensive experience treating veterans with trauma-related conditions and moral injury. Drawing on my clinical work there, I practice trauma-informed care with a deep respect for the complexity of each patient’s lived experience.

Outside of work, I enjoy the outdoors, reading philosophy and science fiction, spending time with my family, and learning new languages.
